What Raiser's Edge Modules Do You Use?

The following was sent to me via a colleague who works at a smaller, community services non-profit, "here we use Raiser's Edge - I thought maybe if there were other RE users I could learn what modules might help me." So, Raiser's Edge users...what modules do you use that you find particularly helpful?

We here at Florida Atlantic use just about everything Raiser's Edge offers. Call me if you or your colleague want to talk about RE.

At Baptist Health Foundation, we currently have RE Search and RE Tribute. RE Search is a must for prospect research, because it contains data fields to record philanthropic interests, ratings, prospect classification, status and gifts to other organizations. When used in a consistent manner, RE Search can be a strong analyzing tool for future use.

RE Tribute allows for more detailed record keeping of tribute gifts. Special acknowledgments for the family and donors are possible throuth this module and I find the canned reports efficient.

While I do not have RE Alumni currently, I would say it is a must-have for education related nonprofits.

I advise against RE Events unless your main fundraising method is a full-blown (assigned seating, complicated benefits, etc) events. It requires a lot of staff time for data entry and maintenance and in my opinion, does not provide any special perks to justify the cost ($1,500). Standard event record keeping for attendance, benefits and sponsorship levels can be easily managed by using Constituent Attributes without the module.

I am not yet sold on RE NetSolutions, especially now Blackbaud is pushing NetCommunity. If anyone is using other sources to manage on-line gifts and communications, I would love to hear about it.

I hope this helps!

We use just about everything Raiser's Edge offers, and although there are still parts I don't utilize completely, I love it and the staff at Blackbaud is great to work with. Call me if you want to talk in details about functions.

At FL Tech, we use Raiser's Edge and Researcher's Edge. We do not use the financial nor event management modules, just the regular version 7.

Hi fellow Florida researchers,
I use Raiser's Edge (version 7) and Blackbaud's Researcher's Edge here at FL Tech. We do not use the financial nor event modules. Take care and hope to see you all in May :)
